Why pay for nostr media hosting?
Free upload hosts are run on goodwill. They compress your files, cap sizes, delete old uploads to save space, or shut down, and the notes that pointed at them break. A paid plan means storage is budgeted for your files and nobody needs to delete them to keep the lights on.
Because blosstr speaks Blossom, you're never locked in. Every file is addressed by its hash, so you can mirror your library to another server at any time and your notes still resolve.

Paying and renewing
Plans are priced in dollars and paid in sats at the current rate, over a lightning invoice. You don't need to log in to pay: enter any npub, pay, and that key can upload. Renewing early adds a year to the time you have left.
Questions
What happens when my plan runs out?
You can't upload new files until you renew. Renew any time from your dashboard or the home page; the year is added to whatever time you have left.
Can I pay for someone else?
Yes. A plan belongs to a pubkey, and only uploads signed by that key can use it, so paying for a friend's npub is safe.
Do you need my email?
No. You log in by signing a challenge with your nostr key, and pay over lightning. There's no email or password.
